Reducing Anti-Social Behaviour Through Targeted Youth Provision

The Challenge
Stoke-on-Trent was experiencing high levels of anti-social behaviour (ASB) involving young people across several communities.

I developed and led a city-wide youth service improvement programme focused on increasing accessibility, improving provision quality, and targeting support in areas experiencing the highest levels of ASB.
The programme included

Refurbishment and improvement of youth centres across the city

Introduction of a mobile youth provision programme targeting ASB hotspot locations

Extending opening hours to ensure youth centres operated on Friday and Saturday evenings when demand and risk levels were highest

The Challenge
Youth service participation rates across Southwark were low, with only 11% of young people accessing youth provision.
